Bishop Donahue's annual Reverse Raffle will be held June 1st at the Wheeling Park Hall of Champtions. Not only the biggest school fundraiser of the year, it's a great evening out for adults that includes a chance to win $5,000.

B.D. Hosts 1st Annual "WE BELIEVE" Golf Scramble |
|
Bishop Donahue will host the WE BELIEVE Golf Scramble at Oglebay Park on May 25, 2012. Golfers will play the challenging Crispin Course and tee time is 12:30 p.m. The fee per golfer is $75 ($300 for a foursome) and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner after the event, prizes and giveaways.

Congratulations to the Top 10 students of the Class of 2012. Principal Tom Wise has announced that Morgan Pelley is the Valedictorian and that Catherine Breault is the Salutatorian of the class. The remaining members of the Top 10 include (in alphabetical order): Sarah Beiter, Andrew Beveridge, Kyle Gillis, Zach Horan, Alexis Randolph, Chad Riedel, Garrett Yurisko and Tyler Zahnow. |

Students Take 1st Place in State Science Fair |
Donahue seniors Catherine Breault and Kyle Gillis took top honors at the WV State Science and Engineering Fair at Fairmont State University. Kyle won the Biochemistry Award. Catherine finished first in Engineering and also won the United States Air Force award for Outstanding Science/Engineering project. |

Mrs. Metz and Sarah Beiter Honored by Diocese |

Over 400 guests convened for the 18th annual Bishop's Dinner for Catholic Schools on March 25 in Morgantown, WV. Bishop Michael J. Bransfield presented the Bishop’s Cross to B.D.H.S. faculty member Loretta Metz and the Aquinas Medal to senior Sarah Beiter.
The Bishop’s Cross is presented to individuals who, through their lives and works, have demonstrated, in extraordinary ways, their commitment to the mission of Catholic education in West Virginia. Bishop Bransfield will present each recipient with a replica of the late Bishop Bernard W. Schmitt’s pectoral cross. Bishop Schmitt began this annual event in 1995.
The Aquinas Medal is given in recognition of a students outstanding qualities of faithful discipleship, academic excellence, leadership and service to school, parish and community, reflecting the ideals of Catholic education epitomized by St. Thomas Aquinas, the Catholic patron saint of students.

"Donahue Disco" Theme of 2012 Spring Musical |
 The students of Bishop Donahue are busy preparing for the 2012 Spring musical. This year’s show is “Donahue Disco. “The students are challenged every year to learn a genre of music they are not really familiar with. They work hard to put their own individual stamp on the songs they choose,” says Loretta Metz, producer of the show. Songs chosen this year include memorable hits by the Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, Donna Summers, and Blondie to name a few. Matthew Vucelik will be the emcee of the event.
